South Sioux City, Nebraska is part of the larger Siouxland region, an area wher the borders of Nebraska, Iowa, and South Dakota meet. A scenic stop on the historic Lewis and Clark trail. South Sioux City has a population of over 10,000 and offers all the amenities of a metropolitan area, while maintaining the friendliness of a small town.
Known as the “wildest little town on the Missouri” in Frontier days, South Sioux City is rich in history and recreational opportunities. Located along the Missouri River, scenery is spectacular, especially in the fall.

MUSEUM Sergeant Floyd Monument, Tourism Center and River Museum: Sioux City, IA This park honors the only US soldier to die on the Lewis & Clark expedition in 1804. Sergeant Charles Floyd was a volunteer engineer on the expedition who became ill and died as the group traveled through this area. The site of his burial is now called Floyd's Bluff and is marked by a 100 foot high white stone obelisk overlooking a breathtaking view of the Missouri River. The monument was recognized as the first National Historic Landmark registered by the US Department of the Interior in 1960.
